The Penn State Children’s Eating Behavior Laboratory seeks a Research Study Coordinator who will perform the day-to-day project management of a large clinical research study with children. The “Food and Brain Study” is a longitudinal research trial focused on understanding how children make decisions about how much to eat and how this relates to body weight. This position will be involved in all aspects of research and will be responsible for delivering training to new research assistants on study protocols, maintaining training records of research assistants, working with our Kitchen Manager to make sure all staff members have adequate certifications, recruiting and screening new participants, managing and updating our recruitment database, identifying new recruitment opportunities, and maintaining accurate study databases. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Basic knowledge of Qualtrics, Microsoft Access and SPSS is also preferred, but not required. Prior experience with or interest in learning about psychology, nutrition, clinical science, and/or human development and family studies, would be preferred, as well as experience working with children and experience working in a clinical research environment. The successful candidate will need strong organizational and communication skills, be reliable and punctual, organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and work well with others as a team.
