Lab Manager for Teen and Young Adult Lab at the University of Pittsburgh

A FULL-TIME LAB MANAGER is sought by Dr. Sophia Choukas-Bradley in the Teen and Young Adult (TAYA) Lab at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Choukas-Bradley is seeking a full-time Lab Manager with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2019. The lab aims to understand interpersonal and sociocultural influences on adolescent and emerging adult development, with an emphasis on gender, sexuality, social media use, body image, and LGBTQ+ youth. The TAYA Lab is affiliated with the Developmental, Clinical, and Social Psychology Programs at the University of Pittsburgh. More information about the lab and current studies is available at:

The individual who fills this position will be involved in all aspects of the research process and general administrative duties related to day-to-day lab operations, including coordinating multiple studies; hiring, supervising, and mentoring undergraduate RAs; recruiting participants; collecting and managing data; conducting literature searches; and assisting with IRB management, grant applications, and lab and grant budgets. The individual may travel to conduct school-based data collection in North Carolina. A Bachelor’s degree and prior research experience in Psychology or a related field are required. This position also requires a high degree of flexibility, maturity, strong attention to detail, and outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills. Applicants with prior experience with data analysis software (for example, SPSS, R, or Mplus) are preferred. Professional development opportunities will be available.

This position is ideal for a highly motivated individual interested in gaining research experience prior to graduate school in Psychology or related fields.
