Full-Time Lab Coordinator: The Every Day Learning Study

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to be the project manager for the Every Day Learning research project. It is an NSF-funded study about how children learn math from parent-child interactions at home. We are particularly interested in working with 2- to 3- year-olds in low-socioeconomic status families. The study is being conducted in three locations (NYU, University of Pittsburg, and UMD). The lab coordinator will work side-by-side with research assistants, graduate students, and Dr. Natasha Cabrera, who is the principal investigator on this project at UMD. Starting date: January 2019 or as soon as possible.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Managing the day-to-day operations associated with the study, tracking progress against milestones and goals.
• Maintaining documentation of training requirements for all key personnel.
• Assisting in identifying potential study families and enrolling participants into research studies.
• Preparing assessment materials and protocols for assessment.
• Conducting home visits for data collection and managing data.
• Assisting with data analysis.
• Assisting with the preparation of publications, presentations, reports using data affiliated with the project.
• Maintaining categorized budget costs for protocols.
• Supervising undergraduate students who are working on the project.
• Participating in the planning and development of future research protocols.

Educational requirements:
At least Bachelor’s degree in Human Development, Child Development, Psychology, Education, or other related fields.

Experience/skills requirements:
• Excellent organizational and managerial skills.
• Experience conducting research and working in a laboratory setting preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS) and conducting data analyses preferred.
• Excellent skills interacting with infants, children, and parents.
• Fluency in Spanish is required.
• Experience working with diverse populations preferred.
