Research Assistant at Cincinnati Children’s

The Center for ADHD at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is anticipating hiring multiple full-time paid research assistants to begin work within the next 6 months (May 2018 – August 2018).  This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing graduate degrees in psychology and related fields.

Ongoing studies at the Center include:
o Experimental and longitudinal studies examining sleep in teens with ADHD
o Socio-emotional, academic, sleep, neuropsychological, and neuroimaging correlates of sluggish cognitive tempo (SCT) in children
o Interventions targeting driving in adolescents with ADHD
o Treating academic and executive functioning deficits in youth with high-functioning autism
o Children’s response to ADHD medication and how they react to stopping medication

Position involves:
o Administration of intelligence, achievement, and other neuropsychological assessment measures to children
o Working with children in local schools and at the Center for ADHD
o Recruiting and scheduling research participants
o Coordinating the study (including interacting with the Institutional Review Board, and being the first point of contact for parents and schools)
o Data management and entry

Other research and clinical opportunities:
o Monthly didactic focused on ADHD-related research and clinical issues
o Participate in the preparation of conference presentations

To be eligible:
o Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field
o Some research experience
o 2 year commitment required

Cincinnati Children’s also ranked second nationally to full service children’s hospitals in 2014 NIH funding. Established in 2005, the Center for ADHD at Cincinnati Children’s is one of the largest centers in the country devoted entirely to improving the care of children and adolescents with ADHD and provides a multidisciplinary approach to assessing and treating this pediatric population.
